This tutorial shows how to install a clean copy of Windows 10. First of all, you have to download Windows 10 from Microsoft’s website. Then create bootable installation media. You can create bootable installation media in two ways-
Once you have created installation media, you can continue installation. Let’s take a look at system requirements to install Windows 10.
- Processor: 1 Gigahertz (GHz) or faster.
- RAM: 1 Gigabyte (GB) for 32-bit or 2 GB for 64-bit Windows
- Free hard disk space: 16 GB.
- Graphics card: Microsoft DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM driver.
First Download Windows 10 if you don’t have it. Setup your PC to boot from desired installation media. Click the links below to setup BIOS:
After setting up BIOS, insert Windows 10 Installation Media into your PC and restart it. I am taking example of DVD. Press any key when you see, “Press any key to boot from USB/CD or DVD…“.

You will be prompted to enter your Windows 10 product key. If you have the key, insert in the space provided. And if you want to do it later, click on Skip.
Now you will see license terms, Check the check-box next to “I accept the license terms” and click on Next.
You will see two options: Upgrade and Custom. Select Custom for fresh installation. Upgrade is used to install Windows 10 over previous versions of Windows.
Now you will see list of hard disk partitions on your PC available for installation. If you don’t have Partitions already created, you can create new partition by clicking on New.
Enter the size of new partition and click on Apply.
You will see additional dialog about additional partitions created by Windows. Click OK to proceed.
Now You have partitions ready for installation. Select a partition other than System Reserved partition and click Next.
Windows installation will start. This is going to take some time, sit back and relax.
As soon as previous step completes, Windows will restart and will ask you for product key. You can Enter the product key here or you can “Do this later”.
Time to change settings of Windows. You can also choose “Use Express Settings”, but it is better to manually change the settings. Click on “Customize Settings”.
Turn off first three options in Customize settings and click on Next.
You will see more settings, leave them as they are and click on Next.
Now you have successfully configured settings. It’s time for setting up accounts. Click on “I Own It” and click Next.
Now enter a username and password for it. You can also set Hint for it and click Next.
After entering details, Windows will finalize settings.
Finally Windows will setup applications.
Windows will start and you will see login screen, login using same details you entered earlier. Your Windows 10 is now ready to be used and played with.
