Logon Screen is the screen which shows while logging into Windows 10. Some people like it and some don’t. If you are one of those guys who like their Logon Screen look simple, then you are at right place. This tutorial shows you “how to disable logon Background Image in Windows 10.” As you can see that in Windows 10, logon screen look like shown below-
If you want to disable this logon background image, then you have to use some Registry trick. Let’s see how to disable Windows 10 Logon Screen Background Image-
What do we need?
- Registry Editor
First we have to open Registry Editor. To open Registry Editor, launch RUN by pressing Windows Key + R, type regedit and press Enter.
You may be prompted for Administrator’s permission, click Yes to continue.
In Registry Editor, go to following path-
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Policies > Microsoft > Windows > System
Right-click on right side, click New > DWORD (32-bit) Value to create a new DWORD.
Name the newly created DWORD as DisableLogonBackgroundImage (case sensitive) and press Enter.
Now, right-click newly created DWORD and click Modify…
Set the Value data field to 1 and click OK.
You can now close Registry Editor window, we are done with Registry Editor.
Restart your system. Click Start button, then click Power and click on Restart.
After reboot, you will see a logon screen without background image. You will just see light blue color background.
You have successfully disabled logon screen background image in Windows 10. If you want it back again, just go to same Registry location and Delete DisableLogonBackgroundImage DWORD that we have recently created.
How To Bypass Windows 7, 8 or 10 Logon Screen?
