Motorola has got the formula to keep consumers looking for it’s devices. Motorola successfully managed to impress the buyers with it’s budget Moto G (3rd gen) and the mid-range Moto X Play . Motorola has now come up with another smartphone – the Moto X Style – that is going to compete in the top category. Here are the reviews of the new Moto X Style, the fifth phone in India this year from Motorola.
The front side of the phone looks similar to the Moto X Play, but back side is quite different from front. The back side of the phone has a ribbed pattern that not only give it a premium look but easy to hold in your hand. The phone is comfortable to hold and use, but is not meant for single-handed use. The metallic frame also adds some beauty to it. Moto X Style runs on Android Lollipop 5.1.1, giving it latest shot of Android and clutter free performance. The Battery of Moto X style is power packed with 3000mAh capacity and is good enough to last a day long even if you watch videos, play music and games etc. TurboPower™ charging can give you upto 8 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes.
Unlike the Moto X Play, the back panel of the Moto X Style is non-removable. It means you can’t swap the back panels in the Moto X Style. But this doesn’t seems to be a big deal.
Moto X Style has got 5.7-inch Quad HD display (1440 x 2560 pixels). It’s display is amazing in terms of both colour reproduction and viewing angles, and features thin bezels. The Audio system of the phone is also good, it has two speakers on front side, one on top and one on bottom. This gives loud and clear experience of sound.
The front camera of the Moto X Style has got a flash which makes it the ‘Selfie Moto’. Selfies taken by this phone are surprisingly awesome. You can also capture 1080p videos using front camera.
The main camera has a 21 megapixel sensor with a dual-tone flash. The camera shows great performance in bright light conditions as well as in soft-light conditions. If you wanna talk about videos, the Moto X Style’s rear camera can shoot 4K videos. Previously, cameras of the Moto phones were disappointing, but the Moto X Play’s cameras and the Moto X Style’s cameras are quite good and won’t disappoint you in any way.
What you are going to find disappointing in Moto X Style, that it’s camera app has only two resolutions 21MP and 16.1 MP. I think Motorola should enrich the camera application with some more customization options. Like the Moto X Play, the Moto X Style has got a single tray at the top – for both SIM cards (4G + 4G) and a microSD card. You can expand storage capacity of the phone up to 128 GB using microSD card.
This phone was announced internationally in three variants (16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB), but Motorola has brought only first two (16 GB and 32 GB) to India. The 16 GB model is priced at Rs 29,999, while the 64 GB at Rs 31,999 in India – making them competitively priced. The company seems to have no plans to bring the 128 GB variant to India.
The phone has a powerful Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 808 processor and 3 GB RAM underneath. Here are full specifications of the phone-
With an impressive design, competitive pricing, and top-notch specifications, the Moto X Style seams to be a tempting deal, but let’s not make a buying decision based on its first impressions review.
