How To Start Any Windows ( XP, Vista, 7, 8/8.1 or 10) In Safe Mode (Using Msconfig Utility)

There exist different methods to start your Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8/8.1 and Windows 10 in Safe Mode. This tutorial show you, how to start any version of Windows in Safe Mode using same method. In this method we are going to use Windows System Configuration utility i.e. MSConfig ToolThis utility is used to configure Windows boot options, startup behavior, Services etc.

How To Start Any Windows ( XP, Vista, 7, 8/8.1 or 10) In Safe Mode (Using Msconfig Utility)?

Step 1

First press Windows Key on keyboard. This will launch Start Menu. In search box type “msconfig” and click on the first result you see. Alternatively, press Windows Key + R to launch Run utility, type msconfig and press Enter.

System Configuration Utility will start.

Step 2

Click on Boot tab, select the operating system and check the box next to Safe Boot. Click OK to continue.

You will see a prompt asking you if you would like to restart your computer now or exit without restart.

Click on Restart to start your PC in Safe Mode.

Step 3

Your PC will start in Safe Mode.

The only drawback of this method is that your computer will always start in Safe ModeYou have to change the settings in System Configuration Utility to start your PC in Normal mode.

Step 4

If you want to start your PC in normal mode, launch System configuration Utility just as you did in Step 1.

Go to Boot tab and un-check Safe Boot.

Click OK to apply the changes. You will prompt asking to restart your PC, click on Restart to restart your PC in normal mode.

You can use this method to start any Windows operating System be it Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8/8.1 or Windows 10 in safe mode. You can take help from this video-
