How To Install Remix OS 3.0 On Your PC With Windows 10

Dual Boot Remix OS 3.0 with Windows 10.

Android-x86.org has released a new version of Android Marshmallow 6.0 based operating system Remix OS. This operating system is developed by Chih-Wei Huang, the founder of Android-x86.org. This tutorial explains how to install Remix OS 3.0 on your PC with Windows 10. It means you can install Remix OS 3.0 on your PC without losing your preinstalled Windows OS. Remix OS setup comes with a windows installer application which installs this Android Marshmallow 6.0 based Remix OS with your existing Windows. Let’s start installation of Remix OS 3.0 on your Windows PC

What we need?

  1. A PC which has Windows 7 or higher installed on it. In this tutorial we have used Windows 10.
  2. Remix OS installation files.

How To Install Remix OS 3.0 On Your PC?

Step 1

First you have to download Remix OS for PC if you have not downloaded already. To download Remix OS 3.0, go to http://www.android-x86.org and click on Download Now button to download Remix OS. Download size is around 1.02 GB.

Step 2

After downloading, you will get a zip file. Extract that zip file to any folder.

After extraction, you will get 4 files. Double-click Remix_OS_for_PC_Installation_T00l… application to start installation of Remix OS on your PC.

If you see User Account Control prompt, click Yes to continue.

Step 3

Remix OS installation setup will appear. Now, click on the Browse button near the bottom of the window.

Navigate to the directory where you have extracted Remix OS files and choose Remis_OS_for_PC_Android… ISO file. Click Open to select this file and continue installation.

After selecting ISO file, select the disk type on which you are going to install Remix OS. You can see two options, Hard Disk and USB Drive. You can install on either of them. In this tutorial we are “installing Remix OS on Hard Disk, so we have selected Hard Disk.

Next is option to select the Disk Drive of your Hard Disk or USB Drive. Select on which Drive you want to install Remix OS.

Step 4

After making all the selections, now we are ready to install Remix OS. Click OK to continue installation of Remix OS on your PC.

The setup will ask you about the disk size Remix OS is going to occupy.  You can select disk size depending upon availability of space in selected Disk Drive. 16 GB is recommended in most of the cases.

Setup will start installation process and will copy necessary files to your hard disk drive.

After installation, setup will ask you to reboot your PC. Click on Reboot Now to reboot your PC and complete installation of Remix OS on your Windows PC.

Step 5

Your PC will reboot.

On the startup, you will see two boot options. Select Remix OS to start Remix OS.

First time boot of Remix OS is going to take some time because Remix OS installs it’s file system on the assigned disk space(8 or 16 GB which you selected in Step 4.)

Step 6

Finally, you will see Remix OS logo. This is a good sign. You have successfully installed Remix OS on your Windows PC.

Just like on new Android Phone, you have to select startup options in Remix OS also. First Select your language.

After selecting Language, you will see User agreement. Click on Agree to continue.

Next you will see Wi-Fi Setup. If you have Wi-Fi connection availabe, you can setup Wi-Fi network or you can simply Skip this step.

Last and important thing, Google Play Store. You have option to Activate Google Play to get latest Android Apps and Games from Google Play Store.

Step 7

Finally, you will see Remix OS Desktop. This is it. You have completed installation and configuration of Remix OS on your PC with Windows 10.

Now you can enjoy dual booting Android Marshmallow based Remix OS and Windows 10 on your PC. You can enjoy HD Android games on Remix OS. But if you don’t like this Remix OS, you can always uninstall it from your PC without losing your Windows.

    so you installed Remix into C:, the same system partition used by Windows 10? or did I missed something?
