Bootable USB drives have made it easy to carry the Operating Systems with you. Bootable USB drives are really a good thing to carry with you. You can make bootable USB drive of any Operating system that you want. People usually carry separate USB drives for different Operating systems, like one for Windows XP and another for Windows 7 or any other tool, but you can carry many operating systems in single USB drive!
Yes, it’s true. YUMI has made it possible. By using YUMI Multiboot Disk Creator, you can put multiple bootable ISOs on a single USB Drive. It means, you can install Windows XP and Windows 7 or any other Operating Systems using single USB drive. And even you can put more Bootable ISOs on your USB pendrive. What you gonna worry about is the size of the USB disk. The rest of the things will be taken care by YUMI.
This tutorial shows you how to create a multiboot disk using YUMI multiboot disk creator. In this tutorial I am going to explain how to put Windows XP and ESET SysRescue Live ISOs on single USB drive. Windows XP is an Operating System while ESET SysRescue Live is an Antivirus tool to scan your computer in emergency (When your PC is highly infected by Virus, you can use this disk to scan your PC).
We are going to need some ISOs before we start. For this tutorial, I am going to need Windows XP and ESET SysRescue Live ISOs. If you want to put another ISOs on your USB disk, you can get different ISO, it’s upto you.
What do we need:
- Windows XP ISO file.
- ESET SysRescue Live ISO file. Download it from here.
- YUMI Multiboot USB Creator. You can download it from here.
- USB Pendrive of sufficient size. (For Windows XP and ESET SysRescue Live ISOs, a 4GB Pendrive would be enough. If you want to put Windows 7, 8/8.1 or Windows 10 together, you are going to need bigger size.)
First Download YUMI Multiboot Creator from official website. You can follow this link to go to download page.
After Downloading, double-click the downloaded file to run YUMI. YUMI is click to run utility, you don’t need to install it. You may see UAC prompt, click YES to continue.
YUMI will start, click on Agree to start.
Now, you will see YUMI main window, from first drop-down list, select your USB drive.
After selecting USB Drive, click on Second drop-down list to select the type of ISO that you want to put on USB pendrive.
You will see a long list of the ISOs that you can put on your USB pendrive using YUMI. Besides Windows, you can also put Linux ISOs and Antivirus tools on USB disk. Select Windows XP Installer or select your desired option if you are going to put some other ISO on it.
Now, it’s time to select you ISO file. Click Browse button to browse to your ISO file.
In Browse window, browse to your ISO file, select it and click OPEN.
We are all ready to start Creating bootable disk for Selected ISO file. But first check the box next to “Format Drive (Erase conent)?“, this will format your USB Drive.
Now, click on Create to continue making bootable USB drive for selected ISO file.
Make sure you don’t have any data on your USB Drive. If you have some important data on it, copy it somewhere else before continuing. YUMI will show you warning message about erasing the content of your USB pendrive, click Yes to continue.
This process is going to take some time depending upon the size of ISO file selected. You can have a coffee!
After the process is complete, the progress bar will be fully filled and you will see a Next button at the bottom. Click it to continue.
YUMI will ask you if you want to put another distribution to USB drive, click Yes to put another ISO on this USB drive or click No to exit. In this tutorial we are going to put another Antivirus tool, ESET SysRescue Live on it so I’ve selected Yes.
You will see the same window as you saw in Step 2. Select the same USB drive as you have selected in Step 2, select the name of Antivirus tool that you want to put on it. Click on Browse button to browse to the ISO of the required Antivirus tool.
Select the ISO file and click Open.
After selecting the ISO, click on Create. DO NOT check the box next to Format Drive (Erase content?) otherwise, previous ISO will be deleted.
YUMI will start copying ISO files to USB disk.
After the process is complete, you will see Next button at the bottom of the window, click it. It will again ask you about putting another ISO to it, click No to exit. You can also click Yes if you want to put another ISO to it.
After clicking No, you will see All Finished window, click Finish to exit YUMI Multiboot disk creator.
You can now enjoy installing multiple Operating systems from single USB disk. You can also put another ISO even after exiting YUMI utility. Whenever you want to put another ISO just start YUMI utility and follow the same process.
Just setup your PC to boot from USB drive and you can boot from USB and continue installation of desired operating system.
