Have you recently upgraded to Windows 10? Since Windows 10 is released recently, you may face some compatibility issues. If you think that Windows 10 is not for you and you are not going to use it, you are at the right place. You can downgrade you Windows 10 to Windows 8.1 or Windows 7 whichever you have upgraded from.
First you should check one thing i. e. you should have Windows.old folder in your C drive. This folder is created when you upgrade your existing Windows to Windows 10. This “Windows.old” folder contain files of old Windows.
If you don’t have this Windows.old folder in your C drive, you can’t downgrade to your previous Windows and you have to perform clean install. Click these links to clean install Windows XP or Windows 7. But if you have this folder, you can start downgrading process.
First click on Start Button and then click on Settings.
In Settings window, you will see many options, click on Update & Security.
In Update & Security window, in left pane click on Recovery and on the Right pane click “Get Started” under “Go back to Windows 8.1 or 7”. This option helps to downgrade Windows 10 to previously installed Windows.
Now, Windows 10 will take feedback from you, about why do you want to “downgrade your Windows 10 to Windows 7 or Windows 8“. You can select any option from the list and click Next.
Windows will tell you about what you are going to lose by downgrading Windows 10 to previous Windows. Just click Next.
You must remember your previous Windows’ User Password. After downgrading, you will be using previous Windows user Accounts. If you don’t remember your old Windows Password, you can reset it. Click here to know, how to reset Windows 8 or Windows 7 user password.
Finally, click on “Go back to Windows 8.1 or 7″ button to Downgrade Windows 10 to previous verison of Windows.
You PC will restart.
After Restarting, Windows will start Restoring process. It may take some time, you can have a cup of coffee in meanwhile.
After successfully downgrading your Windows 10 to Windows 7 or 8, you will be logged on to your previous Windows.
And you are back! Your old Windows is back. You can now use your old Windows.
