How to Set Chrome as Default Browser on iPhone (iOS 14 & iOS 15)

iOS 14 has brought several features to iPhones that were long awaited. Apple now allows users to set custom charging animation, and change the default web browser and email client in iOS 14 and iOS 15. So, if you want to set Google Chrome as the default browser on your iPhone, you can easily do so. You just need to ensure you are running iOS 14 or iOS 15 on your iPhone.

Besides iOS 14, you also need to update your Chrome app to the latest version from the App Store. You would need Chrome browser version 85.0.4183.109 or higher. So, if you are already running the latest version of Chrome, you are good to go.

Set Google Chrome as the Default Web Browser in iOS 14 or iOS 15 on the iPhone

There is no trick in this. You can easily change your default web browser from the Settings app in iOS 14. Just follow these steps.

Step 1: Open Chrome Settings on iPhone

First of all, open the Settings app on your iPhone running iOS 14. After that, scroll down and tap on Chrome from the list of apps. It will reveal settings for the Chrome app along with the default browser setting on your iPhone.

Step 2: Open Default Browser Settings

Now, you will see several settings for the Chrome app on your iPhone. Here, you can change Location, Photos, Microphone, Siri, and Mobile Data access of Google Chrome.

Below that, you will also see a Default Browser App option. Tap on it to change and set the default browser app to Chrome on your iPhone running iOS 14.

Step 3: Set Chrome as Default Browser in iOS 14

Finally, you will see the option to change your default web browser on your iPhone. By default, Safari is your default browser on the iPhone. However, after the iOS 14 update, you can change it.
