Here is a great trick you can play on your friends, or you can use it on your own computer. You can hide all your disk drives in your computer. You can easily make your friends wonder, “Hey look my computer runs without hard disk.” You can also avoid access to your personal data by hiding all disk drives and network drives in your computer. You can disable the display of all the Local Disk Drives or Network Disk Drives in “My Computer( or This PC)“.

How to hide all disk drives and network drives in your PC?
Go to Start-> Run. Type “regedit” and press Enter. Registry Editor window will open.
Now track down to following path in registry editor:
“HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Policies > Explorer”
You may not find Explorer key in Policies, you can manually create it by right-clicking on Policies key and choose New Key and name it as Explorer.
Now in the right pane Right-click and select create a new DWORD item and name it “NoDrives” (it is case sensitive).
Now double-click on it and modify it’s value to “3FFFFFF” (Hexadecimal).
Close Registry Editor and restart your computer.
After restarting your PC, open “My Computer” or “This PC”, no drives will be shown.
Show Drives Again
To enable display of disk drives in My Computer, simply follow same path in Registry Editor and delete NoDrives DWORD item that you created and restart your computer. You can now see all the drives again.
You can easily hide all your disk drives using above trick. This trick doesn’t harm your computer any way. You are advised to be careful while playing with Registry Editor. Enjoy! Don’t forget to comment.
