How to make invisible folders?

Step 1

Right-click on the Desktop, choose New >> Folder to make a new folder.

Step 2

Now rename the folder and type a NULL character. You can type a null character by pressing and holding ALT key and type 0160. This null character counts for nothing and displays as space.

Step 3

Now you have a folder without a name. Half of the process is complete here. You have created a folder without a name, now you have to hide folder icon also.

Step 4

To hide folder icon, right click on the Folder -> Properties. Click on Customize tab and click on Change icon button.

Step 5

Scroll a bit, you should find some empty spaces, Click on any one of them. These are actually transparent folder icons. These will help us make folder icon transparent or invisible. Select any transparent icon and click on OK.

Step 6

That’s it. You are done here. Your folder is now invisible. You can’t see it but it is still there. You just need to know it’s location in order to find it. Whenever you hover over it, it shows folder details.
