How to Run two WhatsApp Accounts in Android Phone

A lot of people around the world use two or more WhatsApp accounts. Some Android devices like Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, and Samsung allow users to run two instances of apps simultaneously through app cloning. But if your phone doesn’t support app cloning, you can use the Parallel Space app to run two WhatsApp accounts on your Android phone.

However, it is not easy to restore chat backup for the second WhatsApp account. So, in this tutorial, we will show you how to run two WhatsApp accounts on an Android phone with a full chat backup. Besides WhatsApp, you can also use the Parallel Space app to run the second instance of Facebook, Twitter, or any other app. Parallel space works without root access.

Alright, let’s see the detailed process step by step:

Step 1: Install the Parallel Space app on your Android Phone

We need to install the Parallel Space (free) app in order to run two accounts of WhatsApp on the Android phone. Parallel Space app is available on Google Play Store for free.

To install the Parallel Space app on your Android phone, open Play Store on your phone, and search for “parallel space“. Tap on INSTALL to install Parallel Space on your phone and when it asks for permissions, tap on ACCEPT to continue.

Parallel Space app will be installed on your Android phone.


Step 2: Start Parallel Space and Clone WhatsApp on Android

After installation of the Parallel Space app, tap on OPEN to open the app. When the app starts for the first time, it will ask you to select apps to add to Parallel Space. Select the apps that you want to use with two accounts and tap on ADD TO PARALLEL SPACE.

In this tutorial, we have selected only three apps, you may select more apps if you want. Make sure to select WhatsApp.


Step 3: Add Google to Parallel Space to restore WhatsApp Chat Backup

To restore chats of the second WhatsApp account, we will need to add Google App to Parallel Space. Adding the Google app is necessary to run two WhatsApp accounts on your Android phone. This will allow us to sign in to another Google account and restore the Chat backup from there.

To add Google App to Parallel Space, tap on ADD APP, select Google App from the app list, and tap on ADD TO PARALLEL SPACE.

Now we have all the required apps in Parallel Space.


Step 4: Install 64-bit Support for Modern Android Devices

First, we will have to sign in to the Google Account on which you have chat backup stored for the second WhatsApp account. Tap on Google App to start it. However, it may crash for the first time if your phone is running 64-bit Android. You will need to install Parallel Space 64-bit support to make it work. Tap on INSTALL to continue.

You will be redirected to the Play Store to install Parallel Space 64-bit support which is only a few KBs. Tap on INSTALL to continue. Tap on ACCEPT when it asks for permissions and it will be installed.

After successful installation, press the BACK button to return to the Parallel Space app. Now, you can continue to sign in to another Google account to run two WhatsApp on your Android phone.


Step 5: Sign in to Google Account in Parallel Space

Tap on Google App again, it will work this time. When the Google app opens, tap on SIGN IN to continue.

Now sign in using your Google account which has Chat Backup for a second WhatsApp account. After that accept the agreement by tapping I AGREE. You don’t need to configure Google App completely, just signing in will be enough. Tap on SKIP to skip Google app configuration.

Press the BACK button to return to the Parallel Space app. Now you can continue to install two WhatsApp accounts in one Android phone.

Step 6: Install and Configure Second WhatsApp Account

Now, we are all set. Tap on WhatsApp to configure your second WhatsApp account with chat backup. WhatsApp will open like you just installed it on the new phone, tap on AGREE AND CONTINUE.

It is time to enter your mobile number and verify it.

Step 7: Restore Chat Backup for Second WhatsApp account

After verifying your mobile number, WhatsApp will look for backups on Google Drive. If you have signed in using the correct Google account, you will be notified about available Chat Backup. Tap on RESTORE to continue.

After successful restore tap on NEXT to continue. Fill in your profile info (Name, Profile pic) and tap on NEXT. WhatsApp will start with all your chats restored. You can now enjoy your second WhatsApp with a full chat backup.

Step 8: Enable Notifications for Second WhatsApp account

Now you have successfully installed the second WhatsApp on your phone and restored chat backup. It’s time to enable notifications for Parallel Space Apps. This way you can receive notifications for the second WhatsApp whenever you receive a message.

After the installation of the Parallel Space app, you should have noticed that a notification was showing up in the notification panel. Tap on that notification to set up notification access to the Parallel Space app.

Turn on the switch next to the Parallel Space app to allow notification access to Parallel Space. You will see a confirmation message, tap on ALLOW and notification access will be enabled.
