How to Turn on Windows Spotlight in Windows 10

Spotlight is a great feature in Windows 10 that displays cool wallpapers on the lock screen. You just need to turn on or enable Windows Spotlight on the lock screen. After that Windows 10 will display random wallpapers on lock screen from around the world.

Usually, this feature is enabled by default. However, if it is not enabled for you, you can enable it manually from Personalization settings. Remember, this feature requires an internet connection to work.

Enable Windows Spotlight Feature in Windows 10

Turning on Windows Spotlight images in Windows 10 is quite easy. You just need to modify a few settings and you are good to go. After that, you can enjoy fresh wallpapers on your lock screen. So, let’s go ahead with the steps.

Step 1: Open Personalization Settings in Windows 10

First of all, we need to open Settings. Open Windows 10 Settings from Start and select Personalization.

Step 2: Turn on Windows Spotlight on the Lock screen

After you are in Personalization settings, select Lock screen from the left pane. Now, you will see the Lock screen settings. Here, under Background, select Windows Spotlight from the dropdown as shown below.

This will immediately enable or turn on the spotlight on the Lock screen in your Win 10 PC.

Step 3: Check Spotlight Wallpapers on the Lock screen

Now, time to check if it is working or not. Just lock your Windows 10 by pressing “Windows Key + L” on the keyboard.

You will see a new wallpaper on the lock screen. If you are doing it for the first time, it may take some time for Windows 10 to load new wallpaper. Remember you will need an active internet connection for this feature to work.

Step 4: Share your Feedback on the Lock screen

You will also see a feedback option on the top-right corner of the Lock screen saying, “Like what you see?“. You can reply with “I like it” to say yes or “Not a fan” to say no to share feedback for the Windows Spotlight feature.

Your feedback will change the type of wallpapers you see on the Lock screen.

Step 5: Disable Windows Spotlight on Lock screen in Windows 10

If you want to disable Windows Spotlight on your Windows 10 Lock screen, you can also do that. Simply, go to the same setting as in Step 2 and select Picture or Slideshow from the Background drop-down list.

Both of these options will allow you to select any local images instead of Spotlight wallpapers.

  1. Using windows 10 and spotlight, but am not seeing “Feedback” options in upper right. I want to find out where the photo was taken. How do I activate this feedback option?
