How to Upgrade Lenovo A6000 from S061 to S062 using FOTA Zip File

This tutorial shows, how to upgrade the firmware of Lenovo A6000 from Kraft A6000 S061 (Lollipop) to Kraft A6000 S062 (Lollipop) using the firmware upgrade file (FOTA). The latest firmware update for Lenovo A6000 released by Lenovo is Kraft-A6000_S061_160727_WCB52C02E0.zip. 

But now you can also upgrade your Lenovo A6000 to Lollipop S062 using Kraft-A6000 S062 161223 WCFF518D3A update file which was released in some specific regions. Follow this tutorial to see how to flash the firmware on Lenovo A6000 and update from Kraft-A6000 S061 160727 to Kraft-A6000 S062 161223 WCFF518D3A.

Pre-Requisites for Installing FOTA Update on Lenovo A6000

  • Take a backup of your personal data
  • Charge your battery more than 50%
  • Your device must be running Android Lollipop Kraft-A6000 S061 160727.
  • FOTA Update Zip file for Lenovo A6000 S061 to S062 (Download)

Upgrade Lenovo A6000 from Lollipop S061 to S062 using FOTA Zip File

Step 1: Copy OTA files to your SD Card

Extract the FOTA file you have downloaded. You will find many files, just copy System.zip and Country.ota.zip to the root of your SD card.


Step 2: Power off your Lenovo A6000 Phone

Now Power off your device by long-pressing the Power button and selecting Power OFF.

Step 3: Boot into Recovery

Press and hold the Volume Up, Volume Down, and Power buttons simultaneously to go to recovery mode. When you feel the device vibrate, immediately release the keys. We will upgrade Lenovo A6000 firmware from S061 to S062 via recovery.

Step 4: Wipe Data or Factory Reset your Lenovo A6000

Select wipe data/factory reset and press the Power button to confirm. Again, select wipe cache partition then press the Power button to confirm.

Step 5: Upgrade Lenovo A6000 from S061 to S062

After wiping data and cache partition, select the “apply updates from external SD card” option. Then, browse and select the System.zip file and start flashing by pressing the Power button.

Wait for the process to complete and then select reboot system now.

Step 6: Flash Country.ota.zip using Recovery

You have successfully installed Android Lollipop S062 on your Lenovo A6000. Now, go to recovery mode again then flash the Country.ota.zip file by following the same steps as in Step 2 to Step 5.

Finally, reboot your Lenovo A6000 after flashing the Country.ota.zip file.

Upgrade Lenovo A6000 to S062 using FOTA Zip File

  2. hi sir I have try this way but I found a problem when I try upgrade like your way but when I install from sdcard and I chose system.zip I get a message in below instalation is error and installation is abort
