Ctrl + H Replace
Ctrl + I Italicize the text
Ctrl + J Justify the text
Ctrl + K Opens “Insert Hyperlink” window for new hyperlink or Opens “Edit Hyperlink” window for selected existing hyperlink.
Ctrl + N Creates a new blank workbox

Ctrl + PageUp Switches between worksheet tabs from left to right.
Ctrl + PageDown Switches between worksheet tabs from right to left.
Ctrl + Shift + ( Unhides any hidden rows within selection.
Ctrl + Shift + ) Unhides any hidden columns within selection.
Ctrl + F5 XL, restores the window size
Ctrl + F6 Next workbook window.
Ctrl + Shift + F6 Previous workbook window.
Ctrl + F9 To minimize the workbook.

Ctrl + Shift + $ Applies the currency format with two decimal places (Negative numbers in parentheses)
Ctrl + Shift + % Applies the percentage format with no decimal places.
Ctrl + Shift + * Selects the current region around the active cell (the data area enclosed by blank rows and blank columns) in a PivotTable, it selects the Entire Pivot table report.
Ctrl + Shift + : Enters the current time.
Ctrl + Shift + “ Copies the values from the cell above the active cell into the cell or formula bar.

F4 During formula typing, adjusts the reference type, absolute to relative, otherwise repeat last action.
Ctrl + ;/: Insert current date.
Ctrl + “/’ Copies value from cell above to current cell.
Shift + F2 Edits a cell comment.
Alt + F8 Opens macro dialog box.
Alt + +/= Auto sums selected cells and place values in cells beneath.
Ctrl + Shift + $/4 Currency formats current cell.
Ctrl + Shift + &/7 Applies outline borders to selected cells.

F3 Displays paste name dialog box.
Shift + F3 Displays the Insert Function dialog box.
Ctrl + F4 Closes the selected workbook window.
Shift + F6 Switches between worksheet, Zoom controls, task panel and Ribbon.
Ctrl + Spacebar Selects an entire column.
Shift + Spacebar Selects the entire row.
Ctrl + Shift + Spacebar Selects entire worksheet,

  • If worksheet contains data, Ctrl + Shift + Spacebar selects current region.
  • Pressing Ctrl + Shift + Spacebar second time selects the current region and its summery rows.
  • Pressing Ctrl + Shift + Spacebar third time selects entire worksheet.
Alt + Spacebar Displays the Control menu for the Microsoft Office Excel window.
Shift + Tab Moves to previous cell in worksheet or move to previous option in dialog box.
Ctrl + Tab Switches to next Tab in dialog box.
Ctrl + Shift + Tab Switches to previous tab in dialog box.
Ctrl + END
  • Moves to the last cell in the worksheet, in the lowest used row of the rightmost column.
  •  If the curser is in the formula bar, moves the curser to the end of the text.
Ctrl + Shift + END
  • Extends the selection of the cells to the last cell used on the worksheet (lower right corner).
  • If the curser is in the formula bar, selects all the text in the formula bar from the curser position to the end (this does not affect the height of the formula).

Alt + Enter Starts a new line in the same cell.
Ctrl + Enter Fills the selected cell range with current entry.
Shift + Enter Completes a cell entry and selects the cell above.
  • Cancels an entry in the cell of the formula bar.
  • Closes an open menu or sub-menu, dialog box or message menu.
  • Closes full screen mode and returns to normal mode to display Ribbon and Status bar again.
Arrow Keys Move one cell Up, Down, Left or Right in worksheet.
Shift + Arrow Keys Extends the selection of cells by one.
Ctrl + Arrow Keys Moves to the edge of the current data region in a worksheet.
  • Deletes one character to the left in formula bar
  • Also clears the content of the active cell
  • In cell editing mode, deletes one character to the left of insertion point.
  • Deletes cell contents (formula and data) from selected cells without affecting cell format or comments.
  • In cell editing mode, it deletes one character to the right of insertion point.
