This problem usually occurs when you try to install BlueStacks using an MSI installer. The main reasons for this error are – program incompatibility and certificate error. So, in order to solve this problem, we will have to fix the compatibility issue first. After that, we will solve the certificate error.

Fix BlueStacks Installation Failed or MSI Log File Error

The main source of this error is an incompatible or old MSI file with an expired or incompatible certificate. So, it’s a better idea to use the latest online installer from www.bluestacks.com to avoid such errors. However, there are still some ways to fix the MSI log file error or BlueStacks installation failed error. Let’s start with fixing the MSI compatibility error first.

Step 1: Open BlueStacks MSI Installer’s Properties

First, go to the folder where you have downloaded the BlueStacks MSI installation file. After that, right-click on it and select Properties to open BlueStacks installer properties.

Step 2: Fix Compatibility Issues in MSI Installer

In the Properties window, go to the Compatibility tab and check the box next to the “Run this program in compatibility mode for” option. After that, select the Previous version of Windows from the drop-down and finally click on Apply

Step 3: Check the BlueStacks Certificate

We are done with the compatibility issue. Now, we will solve the certificate issue causing the BlueStacks installation error.

So, in the same Properties window, click on the Digital Signatures tab. Here, you will see a certificate, select it and click on Details.

After that, the certificate details window will open. Here, you can see the details of the certificate included with the BlueStacks MSI installer. You need to install this certificate on your PC.

Now, click the Install Certificate… button to install this certificate on your PC.


Step 4: Install Certificate to Fix BlueStacks Installation Error

Certificate Import Wizard will start. Follow the on-screen instructions to import the certificate.

Finally, click on OK to close the certificate import wizard.

Step 5: Run BlueStacks MSI Installer Again

Now, it’s time to run the BlueStacks installer again. Run the BlueStacks MSI installer to start the installation wizard. This time BlueStacks will be installed without error.

Now, you can install apps and games in BlueStacks without any problems.
