How to Unlock your Locked or Disabled Apple ID

Regaining Access to Locked or Disabled Apple ID

All 4 methods that we are going to discuss start at the same place. You have to start with Apple’s Recovery portal.

So, first of all, open your web browser and go to https://iforgot.apple.com. Here, enter the email ID associated with your locked Apple ID and click on Continue.

1) Unlock your Locked Apple ID Using Phone Number

  • If you already have linked your phone number with your Apple ID, it will be the easiest way to regain access. Just enter your phone number and click on the Continue button.

  • Apple will send a password reset notification to all your linked Apple devices where you are signed into iCloud. You can reset your Apple ID’s password using this notification.

  • When you receive the Reset Password notification on your Apple device, simply, tap on Allow (on iPhone or iPad) or click Show (on Mac). Now, follow the on-screen instructions to reset your Apple ID’s password.

2) Regain Access to Locked or Disabled Apple ID Using Email

If you have not linked your phone number with your Apple ID or can’t access your phone, you can also use your Apple ID email to reset your password.

  • When you are on the “Select which information you would like to reset:” screen, select my password and click on Continue.

  • On the next screen when you are asked “Please select how you want to reset the password“, select Receive an email option and click Continue.

  • Next, you will receive a verification code on your email ID. You can use this verification code to reset your Apple ID password.

3) Access your Locked Apple Account by Answering Security Questions

As you have seen in the second method, there is an option to Answer security questions below Receive an email option. You can use this option to unlock your locked or disabled Apple ID if you don’t have access to your email.

  • So, if you wish to answer security questions that you had set while creating your account, select the Answer security questions option and click Continue.
